Since Michele discovered yoga over 20 years ago, she has dreamed of teaching. In 2023 she realized her dream, and is delighted to bring the calm and strength of yoga practice to others. She achieved her goal by way of the immersive, challenging Anusara yoga teacher training at Garden Street School of Yoga in Coeur d’Alene, ID. Michele registered with Yoga Alliance and is a licensed Anusara Elements teacher.
Michele is also a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and a breast cancer survivor. Her 30+ years in health care as a clinical dietitian provided robust experience and deep insights into the journey
from disease to health. When she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021, her experience became personalized. Michele is grateful and exuberant to now be cancer-free.
Prior to her breast cancer journey, Michele faced a number of years during which sports-related injuries and surgeries made it challenging for her to practice yoga. She was able to do a
modified home practice, but she longed for a yoga community where she could practice with others as she recovered. Because of this experience, Michele intentionally teaches all-inclusive yoga classes, individualizing the practice for students using props, modifications, and clear instructive language.
BUTTERFLY YOGA was so named as a reminder that life, like yoga, is an unfolding. On our mats we practice strength, resilience, balance, and flexibility while tapping into the unique call of our own hearts. Over time, we begin to take this practice off the mat and into our daily lives. And as our lives and our bodies unfold, we bring our unique light and hearts to the world around us.
Michele is dedicated to providing a welcoming space for everyone who wishes to explore their own strength and their innate gifts, and who is ready to transform their life and health with intention and purpose. Join me! You never know where the journey might take you.
June and July have been full months, filled up to overflowing with family, friends, and the most special of times. It has been a constant practice of staying present and remaining grateful for each crazy moment, and finding the gift in each.
Now it is time to come back home. Coming home can be a physical practice, a geographical move, a prayer, or a deep breath. For me, moving through a yoga practice is also coming home.
If you would like to explore your own homecoming, and see if moving inward - into your body, and collaborating with your breath and heartbeat - provides you with something you've been missing, join me for a class in July! Your first class is always free.
Can't wait to see you at yoga. : )
