Lastly, your body has an innate ability to heal. When we quiet our mind and connect with our inner stillness, we foster this process. Within stillness we find self-knowing, helping us navigate more gracefully through life, the challenges and the joys.

We offer various class options including unlimited video on demand, 5-class pass, 10-class pass, and walk-ins and small group series classes. You may wish to peruse our video teaching samples, to gain insight regarding our teaching styles.
In choosing what to wear for yoga, most importantly is your comfort! Yoga leggings or shorts which allow stretch and ease of movement are preferred, and a shirt which stays put during downward dog! Brand name attire is not necessary, and you will find some great selections at Costco, Target and TJMAXX. Please remove jackets and shoes when you arrive and valuables may be secured within the studio.
Yes, some our our associates offer hybrid classes, LIVE + ZOOM, and pre-recorded VIDEO ON DEMAND classes, for those who prefer to practice from the comfort of their own home. Please check with our associates for online class offerings.
Because we value our time with you and the process of shared learning, we believe small intimate classes are most beneficial. With our beginner series, depending upon the needs of the class, we limit attendance to 8 students. For our more advanced classes, or workshops, up to 12-15 students may be allowed.
We suggest weekly for beginning students, and in time, 2-3 days per week as you become more comfortable with your practice. And certainly buidling a home practice is a goal we encourage for all our students, to help deepen your practice and where the process of self-inquiry can be fostered.
It happens to all us, despite our good intentions to be on time. If you do arrive after class begins, please wait quietly in the entry until we conclude our opening meditation.
Because each of our bodies are unique, some poses we find with ease, while others are very challenging. But the good new is that all poses can be modified or pose alternatives offered to meet your body's needs or your health concerns, Please check in with your instructor about these concerns before class begins.
Simply said, losing weight is dependent upon a balance of calories in vs calories out. So practicing yoga can increase your energy expenditure and thus encourage weight loss. However, more importantly, yoga supports the process of self-inquiry, and our mind-body connections. So utltimately we become more aware of our choices, including our dietary selections. As well we learn that our wholeness and happiness in life, are not dependent upon any numerical value on a scale, but rather a contented, open heart and mind.
Our studios are a comfortable 68-70F, and our mindful alignment based instruction is not meant to push your cardio parameters. That said, your breathing and heart rate may increase, and you may note your skin is more radiant at the end of class! Also, water bottles tend to obstruct and disrupt our quiet space, so please moderately hydrate an hour before class, and leave your water bottle for after class.
We encourage you to bring your own mat if you own one, but we offer loaner mats should you need one. All other necessary props are available to you when you arrive, including blankets, blocks, belts, bolsters, eyepillows and sandbags. Your instructor will advise you as to which props are needed before class. As you commit to a regular home practice, know that Shawn has a variety of props for purchase, including bolsters, belts, blocks and Sombra to sooth your muscles!
Our studio at The Gallery is a comfortable 70-73F and 68-70 at Studio Pilates. Rather than applying outside heat, we believe in warming the body from the inside, which naturally happens with increased blood flow as the muscles are stretched and worked. If you run on the cool side, please bring an extra layer or light jacket which can be removed as you need for comfort.
